Falmouth cruise port: what to do in 6 hours
Your ship is in port for 6 hours or so? Once you subtract getting off, the way back and a margin before all aboard, you have roughly 4 to 5 hours to enjoy. This is what a 6-hour stop makes possible.
Best use of 6 hours
- Good Hope estate adventures (4 h, 25 min away): An old sugar estate in the Queen of Spain's Valley turned adventure park: river tubing, ziplines, ATV rides and a tour of the 18th-century great house on the hill.
- Doctor's Cave Beach, Montego Bay (4.5 h, 45 min away): The nearest classic white-sand beach for Falmouth passengers, on Montego Bay's Hip Strip, with clear calm water and an entry fee that covers facilities. Keep an eye on traffic in Montego Bay on the way back.
- Dunn's River Falls from Falmouth (6 h, 75 min away): The famous climbable falls are near Ocho Rios, well over an hour east along the coast. Possible on a full day, but a ship excursion is the safer bet given the distance.
Also fits, with time to spare
Georgian Falmouth walking tour (2 h), Luminous Lagoon (2.5 h), Greenwood Great House (2.5 h), Martha Brae bamboo rafting (3 h), Rose Hall Great House (3 h), Hampden Estate rum distillery (3 h). You could combine two of these.
